AHMEDABAD, India/ RankWire.AI / — The United Arab Emirates and India have taken steps to deepen economic collaboration in sectors that focus on future growth. Over 500 government officials, investors, and business leaders gathered in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, for a new session of the Investopia Dialogues. This event marked the fifth consecutive edition of the global investment forum hosted in India. The discussions aimed to turn expanding bilateral relations into tangible commercial initiatives and foster private-sector alliances. Officials organizing the event highlighted that this initiative plays a crucial role in boosting cross-border capital flows, especially since the Bilateral Investment Treaty between the two countries was put into effect.

Participants included prominent public and private sector stakeholders exploring growth prospects in logistics, food security, advanced manufacturing, financial services, tourism, and artificial intelligence. During the summit, UAE Minister of Economy Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri held a meeting with Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel. The leaders discussed ways to expand cooperation between Emirati companies and regional industrial centers in Gujarat. Bin Touq emphasized that Ahmedabad’s selection highlights the city’s importance as a prominent industrial and economic hub.

Abdulrahman Mohammed Alhawi, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Investment and President of Investopia, pointed out that the UAE contributes over 70 percent of the total investment inflows from Gulf Cooperation Council nations into India. He added that nearly 4,000 new Indian firms joined the Dubai Chamber of Commerce in the first quarter of 2026. Alhawi also noted that the Ahmedabad-based Investopia Dialogues are a strategic milestone designed to facilitate Indian companies’ access to broader global markets through UAE financial hubs.

Boosting Capital Movement Along New Industrial Pathways

The event’s commercial significance was demonstrated through major corporate announcements from regional business figures. LuLu Group, a retail giant, revealed plans for a 4,000 crore Indian rupee investment project in Ahmedabad. Chairman Yusuff Ali M.A. outlined a development project covering 21 acres, which will include a shopping mall, a five-star hotel, and serviced apartments. This initiative is expected to generate over 15,000 new jobs. Additionally, the group is launching a food park and a fish-processing plant to further expand its footprint in the region.

Representatives from Marjan Developers highlighted increased Indian investment in real estate and hospitality projects. CEO Sheikh Saqr bin Omar Al Qasimi emphasized that Indian capital is vital in transforming Ras Al Khaimah into an international destination. Meanwhile, leaders from agribusiness firm Silal Group, including CEO Dhafer Al Qasimi, participated in sector-focused roundtables, discussing modern agriculture, cold-chain logistics, and supply chain resilience.

Enhancing Private Sector Collaborations and Digital Infrastructure Development

Panel discussions centered on the role of sovereign wealth funds, family offices, and private equity in funding major infrastructure projects. Participants explored strategies for streamlining regulatory processes to facilitate capital flow into sectors with high returns. Discussions also addressed technology transfer, with a focus on building digital infrastructure and accelerating AI adoption across manufacturing sectors. The overall aim was to enhance the global competitiveness of both economies through advancements in knowledge-based industries.

The summit concluded with several bilateral meetings aimed at finalizing institutional agreements between participating organizations. Organizers confirmed that this platform will continue hosting international dialogues in key markets to align private investments with long-term macroeconomic goals. By emphasizing trade infrastructure, industrial technology, and joint ventures, the Investopia Dialogues initiative persists in establishing predictable investment pathways that support global economic progress.
