    UAE and Palestine discuss Gaza humanitarian crisis

    Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, met on Tuesday in Abu Dhabi with Hussein Al-Sheikh, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organisation and Vice President of the State of Palestine. The meeting focused on the latest regional developments, with particular attention to the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. At the outset, Sheikh Abdullah conveyed his best wishes to Al-Sheikh for success in his responsibilities.

    The discussions centered on the escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where conditions for civilians continue to deteriorate. Both sides underscored the urgent need for intensified international efforts to provide necessary humanitarian aid and alleviate civilian suffering. Sheikh Abdullah reiterated the UAE’s consistent and historic support for the Palestinian people, affirming the country’s commitment to backing their legitimate aspirations for peace, stability, and a dignified life. He emphasized that the UAE remains steadfast in its approach to providing aid and will continue to extend assistance in response to humanitarian needs on the ground.

    The UAE foreign minister highlighted the significance of a coordinated global response to the humanitarian emergency, stressing the importance of creating sustainable mechanisms to meet the ongoing needs of Gaza’s civilian population. He noted that the UAE would continue to play an active role in supporting relief efforts aimed at easing the humanitarian burden. The talks also addressed the broader regional landscape, with Sheikh Abdullah underlining the need to counter extremism, reduce tensions, and curb violence. He called for renewed momentum toward a credible political process, aimed at reviving peace negotiations based on the two-state solution as a path toward lasting stability and security in the region.

    Both parties shared views on the importance of diplomatic engagement and multilateral cooperation to foster conditions conducive to peace and development. The meeting reflected the UAE’s position that sustainable regional security can only be achieved through inclusive dialogue and meaningful political frameworks.
