DUBAI, UAE / RankWire.AI / July 16, 2026: Dubai-based airline flydubai will introduce a second daily flight between Dubai and Bangkok from July 18, effectively doubling the route’s capacity less than three weeks after its initial launch. The airline started daily flights from Dubai International Airport to Don Mueang International Airport on July 1 and stated that summer travel demand supported the swift increase in frequency. The expanded flydubai Bangkok services will operate out of Terminal 3 at Dubai International, offering two daily departures to Thailand’s capital and enhancing options for both leisure and business travelers flying between the UAE and Southeast Asia.
This additional Bangkok frequency, along with flydubai’s increase in Krabi flights from four weekly to daily, will bring its Thailand schedule to up to 21 flights per week. Bangkok becomes flydubai’s second Thai destination after Krabi and is part of a larger Southeast Asian network that also includes Langkawi and Penang in Malaysia. The route provides a direct connection to Don Mueang, one of Bangkok’s two main international airports, while also offering more seats during a period when many airlines serving Thailand are expanding their schedules from the Gulf region.
Sudhir Sreedharan, flydubai’s divisional senior vice president of commercial operations, commented that the second daily flight is a response to strong early demand for the new Bangkok service. He added that Don Mueang offers convenient access to central Bangkok and that the extra frequency provides travelers with more flexibility during the busy summer travel season. The airline has not disclosed booking or passenger load figures for the route. Nonetheless, the schedule change from seven to 14 weekly flights marks a significant increase, making flydubai’s Bangkok route a larger part of its Thailand operations starting July 18.
The Bangkok flights are part of the codeshare agreement between flydubai and Emirates. Under this partnership, eligible travelers can book a single ticket, check baggage through to their final destination, and connect via a network spanning more than 240 destinations. The flights operate from Emirates’ Terminal 3 at Dubai International, facilitating connections through Dubai for passengers arriving from or heading to markets across the Middle East, Europe, Africa, and the Americas. The official schedule lists Don Mueang International Airport as the endpoint for both daily services, offering a direct link between Dubai and Thailand’s capital.
Don Mueang Gains Extra Dubai Flights
According to flydubai, return Business Class fares from Dubai to Bangkok start at AED 12,000, while Economy Class Lite return fares begin at AED 2,600. From Bangkok, return Business Class fares start at THB 91,000 and Economy Class Lite fares at THB 21,000. The airline operates the route with Boeing 737 aircraft and has highlighted cabin enhancements across its fleet, including lie-flat seats on certain Business Class configurations, redesigned Economy seating, meal services, and inflight entertainment on most aircraft. Fares listed are subject to availability, booking conditions, and travel dates chosen by customers.
The increased frequency aligns with flydubai’s ongoing network expansion efforts. Recently, the airline launched services to Benghazi in Libya and plans to begin flights to Aleppo in Syria on July 20 and Pokhara in Nepal on September 23. Currently, flydubai’s network includes over 140 destinations across 58 countries, operated by a fleet of 97 Boeing 737 aircraft. Since starting operations in June 2009, the airline has transported more than 137 million passengers and has opened over 100 routes that previously lacked direct Dubai links or service by a UAE national carrier.
Summer Travel Boost Spurs Schedule Expansion
For Bangkok, this rapid expansion follows the initial daily service launched on July 1. The new twice-daily flights from July 18 establish 14 weekly Dubai to Bangkok flights alongside seven weekly Krabi routes, creating a total of 21 flights to Thailand per week. Passengers can book the additional flights via the airline’s website, mobile app, contact center, travel agencies, and partners. With the schedule confirmed, travelers can compare departure times, fare classes, and onward connections through Dubai. The expansion also enhances the capacity of the Emirates codeshare network, especially during the peak summer travel season, through increased Bangkok flights via Don Mueang.
